Music Returns to Newbury

With snow still on the ground it is hard to imagine that, yes!, summer WILL return, just as it has since the Center Meeting House was constructed in its current location of honor in the center of town in 1832.

But in the past few years the CMH has had a way of making summers around the lake just that much more fun and exciting.  The Sound of Music has had a new and exhilarating meaning for Newbury and all of the towns around Lake Sunapee.

This year, new plans are afoot for another memorable musical event that won't soon be forgotten.  Contracts are signed and events are scheduled.  While not quite everything is in place we can say almost for sure that the deal is done.

Low_brassMeet the New England musicians who will be there as "Boston Comes to Newbury!"  The New England Brass Consort was created in 1985 by Dartmouth professor, Max Culpepper, who just recently retired as the college's music director. He brought together a large ensemble of fabulous young professional brass players from around New England, and produced concerts and recitals that showed off their virtuosity and flare.
